Cosbie has exhibited for more than 35 years. His works can be found in permanent public and private collections around the world including: the Ontario legislative buildings in Queen’s Park, Toronto; the Canadian Embassy in Beijing; and Domicile Developments in Ottawa. In 2002 he received the Queen Elizabeth II Gold medal from the Governor General to recognize “his significant contribution to Canada.”
In the style of A.Y Jackson, Cosbie tirelessly searches for the perfect painting place for his plein air practice. Cosbie attended the Emily Carr School of Art and Design. As an undergraduate, he worked in the studios of eminent Canadian artists Jack Shadbolt and Sam Black.
