"This series has been painted together. My reaction to all of the thunder in the news today, the way I am feeling about myself and my children. When I am looking at TV lately, this is a reaction.
In this painting I chose these pictures together to show lots of achievements of Black people. Some people say black people are lazy! That's wrong. I wanted to show black people who are not allowed in the mainstream they found other ways to do it. We started our own university! There is a picture of that in here. But they always find ways to keep us down using the money system and using our resources against us. The colonial times in Africa the French built schools for themselves from our labour and land while we have nothing at home." H. K.
