"In the late 1950s, Trottier’s work was expanding into the Canadian national and international artistic scene. In 1957, the year of this untitled drawing, his works were selected for the National Gallery’s Second Biennial of Canadian Art exhibition, as well as the 3rd Winnipeg Show exhibiting alongside other notable Canadian artists such as Bellefleur, Borduas, Lemieux, Lochead, Ronald, Shadbolt, Schaffer and Smith.
