We have been waiting to hold a live exhibition here in Ottawa for the past two years. We finally got the chance this month and the first show out of the gate is the long anticipated Hawa Kaba exhibition " Fragments of Change". It will be held at the Fritzi Gallery which is on the second floor of the Great Canadian Theatre Company in Ottawa's West end. There is a chance to meet Hawa on Thursday, March 10: 1- 4pm. Hawa Kaba creates mixed media paintings that reflect her West African and Muslim heritage and her life in Canada as a single mother of five. Her work is multi-layered, exploring history, social awareness, the African diaspora, colonialism and the importance of public education.
