O Brothers, Where ART thou?
Cube Gallery kicks off 2012 in the family way.
"O Brothers, Where ART Thou?" has the brothers Monet pooling their artistic talents in this one of a kind show.
Cut from distinctly different creative cloth, brothers Dennis, Don and Peter showcase their singular artistic pursuits in a group show reflecting a broad range of artistic directions and mediums. "This is the first time the three of us have placed our work side by side in a show," says curator (and middle brother) Don Monet. "It is surprising how we each have very distinct and diverse artistic styles, yet in some ways our work is very compatible. There is an underlying vein of connectivity -- emotionally and professionally."
O Brothers will include photo-collage and acrylic paintings on pine, birch and antique wood by Don Monet. Youngest brother Peter works with oil, collage and wax to produce richly textured and vibrant, "landscapes of the subconscious mind." Both Peter and Don say this show is particularly poignant for them since eldest brother Dennis passed away in a tragic and unsolved drowning incident in 1983. His abstract oil paintings are being shown with the loving permission of his two sons , Kapila and Dayal.
Meet the artists Peter and Don on Sunday Jan.8 - 2 – 5pm
