Three Ontario gentlemen--Greg Ludlow, Don McVeigh, and Peter Dolan take over Cube's exhibition space for the month of May. Each has a refreshingly unabashed approach to their artistic practice. These three do not try to imitate any "school" or "narrative" of art but set their own artistic paths with fascinating results. Visit Cube in May and experience three highly personal, creative ouevres built with honesty and integrity.
Currently residing in London Ontario, Greg Ludlow is a remarkable artist who has just sold a large abstract painting into the Nordstrom collection for their new Ottawa store. With a B.A in visual arts from The University of Western Ontario and an M.F.A from NSCAD University, Ludlow has also received three awards from the Canada & Ontario Arts Council. He has been exhibited in solo shows across Canada, in the Westland Gallery in London, Mercer Union in Toronto, and at Anna Leonowens Gallery in Halifax.
Don McVeigh is a enigmatic Ottawa artist, and teacher at the Ottawa School of Art. He holds a B.F.A. from the University of Alberta and an M.F.A. from the University of Regina. He recently received a commission from the City of Ottawa for the Public Art Bicycle Racks programme, and has received grants from the Canada Council, and the Saskatchewan Arts Board. He has held solo shows at Ufundi Gallery in Ottawa, Susan Whitney Gallery in Regina and at the prestigious Glenbow Museum in Calgary.
Ottawa’s Peter Dolan is as well known as an architect as an artist. His background colours the way he looks at the history, the composition and the technical process of painting. He has had a number of show at the Cube Gallery over the years. His work is held in private collections across the country.
